You have an unused paysafecard. How do you get the money back?

paysafecard is meant to be spent online, so a PIN you don't need is easy to forget about. There are two ways to get value out of it, and one reason not to wait too long.

The official route

paysafecard can refund unused balances in some cases. It usually means contacting them, proving who you are, and sometimes paying a fee. The conditions depend on your country, so read the terms on their own website before you start.

Why not to wait

In many countries, a PIN that sits unused for a long time starts losing balance to a monthly fee. Check the terms on your receipt or on paysafecard's site: the sooner you use or sell it, the more you keep.

Selling the PIN

  1. Choose the countryThe one printed on the receipt.
  2. Type the valueOr what's left on it, if it was partly used.
  3. Send the 16-digit PIN in the formWe check it and send your money by PayPal, bank, payment app or crypto.

One warning

paysafecard is a favourite of scammers. If someone asked you to buy it to pay a fine, a bill, a delivery or to "unlock" your computer, don't send the PIN to anyone.

Questions

Can I sell a partly used PIN?

Yes, for what's left on it.

Does the PIN expire?

The rules depend on the country. Check the terms that came with your receipt.

Is selling it faster than a refund?

Usually. You see your amount at once, and most orders are paid the same day after a person checks the PIN.
